HOW TO COME
Private transfer
You can use our private transfer service from the Airport or Port. A driver will wait for you, holding a sign with your name written on it, to drop you off directly to the houses. The transfer cost is 10 Euros per person, with a minimum charge of 30 Euros.
Keep in mind, that if you will need to rent a car or an ATV during your stay, we could help you on the booking. The car or the ATV will be delivered in front of your door. It is advisable to notify us before your arrival.
Rent a car
If you rent a car from the airport or the port, follow the signs until Fira, and then the signs for the Vourvoulos village. Actually, it is the same road that leads to Oia village, but from the sea. When you will arrive at Vourvoulos, find “Roza’s tavern” on the main road, on your left hand. This will be our meeting point.
If you need our help to rent a car, contact us to arrange it for you.
Local busses & Taxi
From the Airport or the Port take a local bus until Fira Bus Terminal. Change bus there, towards Vourvoulos. The central square of the village, will be our meeting point.
You can also take a Taxi from the airport or Port until the village, or you can combine a Local bus transfer until Fira bus terminal with a Taxi transfer until Vourvoulos village. In case you will use a Taxi, our meeting point will be the “Roza’s Tavern” in Vourvoulos village (all the Taxi drivers know it..!)
Important note: Please keep in mind that probably it will be rather difficult to find a Taxi during the high season. Also the local bus service from Fira to Vourvoulos village is not frequent
FIND US ON MAP
Vourvoulos village is situated on the central east slopes of Santorini, on the sea road that connects Fira (the capital) with the village of Oia. Being at the centre of the island, it possesses a strategic place for the travelers as it is just 4Km distance from Fira, 8 from Oia, 16Km from Akrotiri and the Red Beach, 19 km from the Black Beaches, while it is 10 Km far from the airport, and 12Km far from Athinios Port. The village is divided into 4 districts: The Upper Vourvoulos at a height of 300 meters, the Down Vourvoulos where is the central square, the Old Vourvoulos, and the Port with the beach.
In the centre of the village you will find a coffee bar, one tavern with live music and another one with excellent local food, as well as two mini markets for the basics.
The Old Vourvoulos (“Palio Chorio” for the locals) is one of the oldest traditional settlements on the island. Small and unspoiled, with cave and authentic village houses, stands just besides the newer village with a wonderful view to the Aegean Sea and to the nearby islands.
The “Old Vourvoulos houses” are in the beginning of Old Vourvoulos, and not more than 5 min. walking distance from the center of the newer village.
The beach of Vourvoulos is 2km further down of the main village. It is a quiet beach, visited mostly by the locals, with black sand and clear waters. Except the umbrellas, you can find some shadow under the tamarisk trees that grow up on the beach. Just besides, there is a small port with fishing boats. There you find also a fish tavern with fresh sea food and other classic Greek and local plates.
Coloumbos beach, 3 km: A hidden gem of Santorini, considered by some as the best beach on the island. It took its name from the homonymous active underwater volcano (at 18 meters depth). The beach is covered with small pebbles. The small cape at the end of the beach is ideal for snorkeling, and good swimmers will enjoy swimming up to the edge of the cape, where they can explore the cave that leads to the other side of it. Very quiet, used to be for nudism.
Exo Gialos beach, 3km: A well organized sandy and calm beach, towards Fira, with umbrellas and a beach bar restaurant with very good food.
